This work is about helping you to feel at home in your body so you can trust your life more fully.
The only way we can experience the world is by living in our bodies. Ironically, our culture has taught us to ignore the information in our bodies, disconnecting us from a feeling of being alive and severely limiting what we can accomplish.
The first step is helping you re-inhabit and relax into your body. For some, the body simply doesn’t feel like a safe or relaxing place to be. For others, there are emotions and sensations that have lived in the body for years and need to be released. However this interference shows up for you, you’ll be empowered to re-enter your experience.
Inside a safe, solid, grounded and loving space, we’ll get down to business. We’ll hone in on what specifically has you stuck, and then work together to shift and release these patterns so that your experience of the world begins to change. Tensions and blocks you’ve held for a lifetime will start to loosen and shift.
How we do this will involve some combination of conversation, tracking emotions and sensations, movement, visualization, and expression. With mindfulness and precision we’ll explore automatic behaviors and patterns, empowering you to recognize them when they occur so that you can make novel choices. We’ll revisit past painful experiences to release any stress you may still be holding from them. (Yes, this sometimes means being uncomfortable; however, in a space of trust and safety, it is possible to move through darker moments swiftly and with grace.)
The process is at once intuitive and scientific, both affirming and challenging. We’ll work at your edge, moving in the direction of your growth rather than going in circles like therapeutic relationships sometimes can. Over time you'll internalize the processes and awareness we engage in together so that you can keep exploring, changing, and growing beyond your time with me.
